William Nauman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida who earned his Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana. He also earned 24 hours of postgraduate credit in Human Development Counseling.
He was trained as a generalist and can treat a wide variety of psychiatric, family, and behavioral concerns, including depression, anxiety, severe mental illness, addictions, retirement, end-of-life issues, trauma, and aging issues. Mr. Nauman brings a wealth of experience in treating a variety of concerns.
He recently was employed by the VA as a therapist and case manager in Suicide Prevention, offering individual (face-to-face and video) and group therapy, and managing veterans on the High-Risk List. He developed relations with community partners and offered public speaking on Suicide Prevention and other Human Development issues.
In previous years, He was an administrator at Northeast Florida State Hospital, directing the social service department and discharge planning, working with the severely mentally ill. Mr. Nauman was the administrator for the City of Decatur’s Office on Aging (OOA), providing Information & Referral, Outreach, Case Management, and community planning services, the Executive Director of the Human Resources in Clinton, Illinois, managing its operations and directly involved in crisis cases involving assessments and hospitalizations.
Mr. Nauman continues his interest in serving veterans and families in need. He uses Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, teaching skills in rational thinking, crisis management, grief, and loss, and coping with trauma. He uses a holistic approach, working toward bringing a balance in the behavioral, cognitive, emotional wellbeing as is requested by the of individual in need. He offers speeches in the community about suicide prevention and family communications.
