This is something that only Dr. Joseph Walden provides currently. He was trained at the VA to treat both PTSD and substance abuse concurrently and he continues to do so at Baytree Behavioral Health. The outpatient setting is not appropriate for all addiction counseling, particularly for people who have a physiological dependence (increased tolerance and withdrawal) on a substance.
A more intensive level of care, inpatient detoxification programs, residential treatment, or intensive outpatient are needed to address that level of substance abuse. However, once that treatment is complete, Dr. Walden would be able to help maintain sobriety and work to resolve underlying issues that lead to substance abuse in the first place.
